December 2012

December was a busy month for us. I mean it normally is because of Christmas, but this year we also took a mini vacation to Vegas. This was my first time staying in Vegas and it was fun and very interesting. Sol had a professionalism course he had to attend while we were there so we invited my parents to come along with us so Jade and I wouldn't be walking the strip by ourselves. There was so much to see and we really enjoyed looking at everything. It was a great trip except that Sol got food poisoning from the food they fed him at his course. Thankfully we had already been there a couple of days so he was able to enjoy himself before he got sick.

Christmas was so fun this year. Having a kid during the Christmas season makes it so much better. Even though Jade was still too young to really know what was going on, it was still exciting. The past few years for Christmas instead of getting each other gifts, Sol and I usually just get one big thing we either need or want. This year we got a new washer and dryer. I have been wanting to get new ones for so long and I finally convinced Sol it was time. Now laundry doesn't seem like such a daunting task since it no longer takes almost two hours just to dry a load of laundry.
Jade got a lot of fun toys for Christmas. Some of them she isn't old enough to play with yet, but it is really nice to have things that she can grow into and things that will help her learn and grow. We got to spend a lot of time with family and friends this Christmas, which to me is the best part of the holidays. Jade loved being around everyone too. She is definitely a people person and is not shy at all. We seriously had such a great December and it was the perfect ending to an amazing year.
