And this is me acting like a goof ball!!

An Update On Life

We have been living with Sol’s family for about 3 months now and it has been a very interesting but fun experience. It really has been so nice to be able to save money for when Sol is done with school and they are so great at making it as comfortable as possible for us. It has been quite a big adjustment though. I am not really used to having young kids around me all the time and Hannah and Sam are very energetic all the time. They are a really great family though and I do love them. We have learned a lot living there and we are so appreciative towards his family.

Sol is doing really well in school this semester. He is trying his best and studying a lot, which doesn’t leave a lot of time for us to do things, but we know in the end it will be worth the sacrifices. This past month Sol was awarded the Smart grant from the University of Utah, which now means we have enough money from all the grants Sol received to pay for the rest of his schooling. I am so grateful that there is a way for those that don’t have a lot of money to go to school without having to get loans. As this is Sol’s last year he is starting to get a little antsy. He really wants to graduate and start working. He really hates the fact that I am the one supporting us right now. He would much rather it be him that is working. I think that when he is done he will do a great job at whatever job he gets.

We also received a new calling in our ward. Sol and I are now the Webelos leaders for the cub scouts. I was not really expecting a calling like this, but I think it will be a good thing for both of us. We only have two boys that are Webelos and one of them is Sol’s little brother Sam. The other boy is extremely shy. So that will be an adventure trying to get him comfortable enough to actually talk to us. I think it will be fun to get to know the boys and it will be good practice for when we have a boy and have to help him with scouts.

Fall

I am so glad that fall is finally here. I really think this is my favorite time of the year. Everything outside is so pretty. I just love driving through the moutains and see how everything has changed colors. I know that many people hate that it is getting cold, but I love it. I would rather curl up in a blanket by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate than do anything else. Everything around this time of year is so fun. First comes Halloween where you get to dress up and spend time pretending you are something or someone else. Seriously who doesn't love the fact that Halloween gives you the excuse do those silly things. Next comes Thanksgiving, which of course means you get to stuff yourself silly with so much amazing food that you don't care if it makes your stomach hurt. Fall also brings about one of my favorite things; spending a ton of time with family and friends. I love the feeling you get when you go outside and the wonderful smells in every store and house you go to. I just love pretty much everything about it, especially the fact that when fall comes around, you know that just around the corner is CHRISTMAS!!! I hope you all enjoy the Fall Season!!

So Much Fun!

Okay, I know what you guys are thinking. Your thinking we must be some very weird people, but I have to say I love this picture. This picture makes me really grateful for the blessings that I have. I am a weirdo sometimes and well I'm not about to change that and I am so glad that I have a husband that will be goofy with me. Times like these are really some of the greatest times we have had in our marriage. Seriously I think it is very important to be able to goof off and laugh with your significant other. He is the best person I have ever known and I am so glad that we can both be ourselves when we are together. So I hope you all enjoy the wonderful faces we are making, I know I do.

Moving!

This past weekend has been so draining. Sol and I had to move out of our house in Lehi over the weekend so for the past few weeks we have been packing up all of our stuff. I couldn't believe how much stuff we have accumulated in just one year of marriage. It just seemed like packing was a never ending job, but we finally finished and moved on Saturday. We will now be living with Sol's parents because we decided it would probably be best to just stay with them and save up money for when Sol is done with school. We are planning to be able to move out next summer and find our own place. It will be interesting living with his family, but I think it will be fun to get closer to them. I just hope that next summer will be the last move we will have to make for many many years. Moving is just no fun!!!

Girls Camp

I had a very interesting experience last week. I got to go to Girls Camp with the girls in my ward. I have to say that I completely and fully appreciate all the leaders I had growing up in young womens because when you are a leader you work very hard. I cannot even begin to explain how much work it was, but I can now say that it was all worth it. It was one of the greatest things I think that I have done in a very long time. The girls in my ward are so amazing and full of the spirit I was so surprised. We planned many fun activities of course, but the few very spiritual activities we had seemed to be the girls favorites. They helped with everything that we asked them to and they seemed to love everything we had for them to do. I love the girls in my ward with all my heart and though Sol and I are having to move, I will never forget it. I can truly testify now that God gives you callings for a reason. He gives them for experiences that will help you grow and gain a greater testimony.

Our First Anniversary

June 20th was our first year anniversary and we were stoked. We both had gotten the weekend off and we had decided that we were just going to stay at home rest awhile and then go to the Zoo and a movie. The night before our anniversary Sol told me that he didn't feel well. I of course did everything I could to make him feel better so that our anniversary wouldn't be ruined by him being sick. The next morning we woke up and we both felt horrible. I was so mad I couldn't believe that of all days to be sick it had to be on our anniversary. We still got up and showered and decided that we were going to try and still make the most of the day. So we went to the Zoo and well only stayed an hour. I have to say that day was horrible and that is why we have no pictures of that memorable day, but the year was great.

I can't believe how fast our first year of marriage flew by. It has been a blast. We love each other more and more everyday and we work so well together. This year has been one of the best and the hardest of my life. I will tell you, life is not all fine and dandy when you get married. You have disagreements with your spouse and sometimes you just want to strangle them, other times you don't know if your going to make it and you just want to curl up in his arms and cry. I am so grateful to be married to Sol. He makes me stronger each and everyday I am with him. He knows what he wants to do in life and he will stop at nothing to get it. He cares more about me and our future family then I even thought possible. No matter how hard life gets we can look at each other and know that it will all be okay. That is best thing about marriage. You have someone for life and in our case all eternity! I know now that I could never live without his love for one minute. Our first year was great and I know that the many years we have to come will be even better.
